Dallas is home – for the moment!

By Paul | April 4, 2009

We made our way back to Dallas last night. The trip took a whole day. It was not as difficult as it has been other times. I have a home in Cleveland that is in great hands. The gentlemen renting it is taking great care of the home and I am really pleased.

It also makes leaving Cleveland to go back to Dallas a bit easier. The first time I lived in Dallas was difficult because I missed my home. Then when I went home I was matched at a job that was just not right for me. Good people all, but I did not fit the business model and if the job is uneasy, the rest of my life does not run smoothly.

Now back in Dallas I think I understand that I can enjoy and appreciate all that Dallas has to offer and not feel like I am betraying my home city of Cleveland. I will remain a Tribe, Browns, and holy-cow-look-at-em-go, Cleveland Cavalier fan. And when a good job opens in Cleveland I have a home and a way back.

But I can accept Dallas and enjoy all that it has to offer as well. Incredible restaurants, a wonderful art museum, the Cotton Bowl and the fairgrounds.

Love your homes people – I have about had it with folks who dump a place that is there heritage and their roots and they drift of like a damn vagabond. I am a Clevelander, it is my home, I embrace it and will return there someday.

But for now, I will live in Dallas, except the weekends…:)
