On Bill Cowher as Cleveland Brown’s Head Coach

By Paul | November 21, 2008

I was completely against this when the rumors started last year. Now, I have had it, I am one frustrated orange and brown Browns fan. If we can get Cowher, I say do what ever needs to be done.

Here’s the thing, some folks still talk about the decisions management makes as though we are just another team going through the routine of being a team. You have up years and down years and sometimes your rebuilding and then your year is here. Except our year hasn’t been here in a long time and I have nephews that think the Browns have always been a poor team. They are loosing all connection with the days of Otto Graham, Jim Brown, Lou the Toe, the Kardiak Kids, Bernie, Mike, Webster, Reggie, the Wizard, Byner and Mac (two 1,000 yard rushers at the same time, football heaven I say), mighty MINI, the ice Cube Gerald McNeil, C’mon people, remember what this team has been. We went to the House of Pain and beat the Oilers, we owned Pittsburgh at one time. Cincinnati dreaded playing us in the battle of Ohio. REMEMBER!

We need to shift in to crises mode the way any business that fails to deliver it’s product over a ten year period. WE NEED TO WIN and we are messing up football basics right now, tackling and clock management for goodness sake, running and passing and mixing it up. We show bursts of potential and then fall back into stupid again.

If we can get a proven fierce coach, despite being tainted with Pittsburgh associations, I say bring him. Bad coaching decisions have cost us a game with Pittsburgh, two Baltimore games, and the Redskins game looked real winnable to me.

I gotta tell you, I watch Sam on the Point After on channel 3 and he makes a lot of sense, Bring back Sam Rutigliano. I like RC, I really do but he is not delivering, and if he does, I will eat my hat but I don’t see it happening under this leadership.

I want my Browns back, BIG and BAD as I remember! Goodness I love this team, I love the Cleveland Browns.
